Live from Cloud Partners: Session Overview—Opening Doors with Cloud Data Backup & Recovery

We’re kicking off Cloud Partners by live blogging during this week’s event. We just left the first session of the Hot Cloud Solutions track titled, “Opening Doors with Cloud Data Backup & Recovery.” Hosted by the 2112 Group, this panel discussion session focused on how to minimize business vulnerabilities with the implementation of a disaster recovery plan.

Key components to any disaster recovery and business continuity plan are data backup and recovery. As companies continually move and store critical data in the cloud, they must work with a trusted cloud services provider to prepare for the worst—a devastating disaster.

For this morning’s session, the 2112 Group’s Chris Gonsalves moderated the discussion, with panelists from AT&T, Verizon and SunGard Availability Services. All agreed that while cloud is hot, backup is imperative. In fact, 94% of companies suffer a catastrophic loss from which they cannot recover. We couldn’t agree more that disaster recovery is big business.

At Windstream, we understand that disaster recovery and business continuity are items on your job description you hope you never need to put into action. But we also know that’s not reality; it’s not the world we live in today. Which is why we work to custom design strategic plans with a full range of replication options, virtual recovery environments and full-managed services with our DRaaS solution and business continuity offerings. If you have questions about planning or implementing a disaster recovery solution, contact a Windstream trusted advisor.

On to the next session!
