Windstream Opens New Little Rock, Arkansas Data Center

We’re proud today. Really proud.

This week, we formally opened our newest Windstream Data Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. It’s a state-of-the-art data center facility, designed to meet the growing business demand for cloud-based and dedicated managed services.  And it underscores our commitment to our growing business customer base nationwide.

The 30,000-square-foot data center is specifically built to meet the constantly evolving, stringent requirements of 24/7, “always on” businesses. Designed with 2N power distribution and parallel uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), our new data center ensures businesses that they’ll be able to access their servers, applications and data at any time, night or day.

The Little Rock data center is located near our corporate headquarters.  It joins our growing list of data center locations that we’ve strategically located in or near major metropolitan areas from coast-to-coast including Boston, Charlotte, Philadelphia, Phoenix and more.

It shouldn’t surprise you that cloud-centric managed services are at the core of the new center. As more companies realize the benefits of cloud-based services, the demand for data centers that provide enhanced offerings and greater security has skyrocketed. We have gone to great lengths to ensure that the services supplied to our business customers through the Little Rock data center are reliable, giving us the ability to provide the most secure and solid service available.

Here’s an example of what we’re talking about:  our new center complies with SSAE-16 Type II requirements.  While that may seem like just another acronym to you, it’s not.  It’s a relatively new set of standards that are more complete than the old SAS-70 standards. Which means that if your applications and data are in the Little Rock center, you know your data is going to be safe.

The new data center is interconnected with our network, and it provides circuit redundancies that ensure no single point of failure. In addition, all core network gear within the data center is fully redundant as well.   We’ve designed it this way to provide a total range of services, ranging from Internet access to the secure protection of a company’s infrastructure. They help ensure that our customers consistently remain online, a key requirement for virtually any company operating in today’s economy.

We’re equally confident about what’s now our added capability to help companies like yours stay in business when you need that capability the most.
