Introduction
Insight Ecosystems is a privately-held, Arkansas-based customer relationship management and business intelligence company. The company provides clients with a business intelligence ecosystem that learns, grows, and changes to meet their ever-expanding needs. Insight Ecosystems’ services and solutions empower companies to gain tangible insight into their customers, products, and financials, turning data into insight and insight into action.
Background
Insight Ecosystems is a small business with five employees. But it had a need for reliable Internet with a large bandwidth for data. The company services banking customers and builds and employs software to help financial institutions run more efficiently.
Insight Ecosystems was using Windstream Internet service and was paying a monthly fee for a T1 line to ensure that the company had a dedicated Internet connection. The company had VoIP phone service through another provider, but CEO Keith Henkel said he was not satisfied with the quality of service.
“We might be on the phone with executives at a local bank and they couldn’t hear us on our old system,” he said. “It’s about presenting a more professional appearance, even as a small business.”
When he analyzed the company’s communications needs, he realized he needed one package of services and looked to Windstream.

It has flexible infrastructure to grow as a business grows and projects a professional image for small and medium businesses.
The product is a fully managed service that is automatically updated by Windstream, which provides premium support available 24/7.
Insight Ecosystems’ biggest challenge was finding a solution that provided sufficient bandwidth, as well as network security. The company is obligated to meet audit requirements and needed to ensure that voice traffic and data were on separate networks, and Windstream was able to meet that requirement with its Hosted VoIP and Data product, which has voice prioritization for calling traffic.
Results
Insight Ecosystems was one of the first Windstream customers to sign up for the Hosted VoIP and Data product. Henkel said the installation was professional and customer service representatives proactively helped troubleshoot any installation issues.
Henkel said he is satisfied with the service and feels he is getting good value for his money. He now has all his telecommunication services with one carrier on one bill and is able to quickly resolve any customer service issues.
“There were no capital expenses and we didn’t have to buy any equipment,” he said. “We doubled our bandwidth, added a new phone system and features and we saved money, so it wasn’t a hard sell.”
